Fishing For Dreams

You cannot put a price tag on the imagination, the love, and the dreams of a child; this is what The Children’s Dream Fund believes. The Children’s Dream Fund was founded and built upon that statement, with the mission to fulfill the dreams of children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Since the organizations’ bright beginnings, the Children’s Dream Fund has turned fantasy into reality for over 2,000 children, ages 3-18, who reside in West Central Florida. The dreams of these children range from meeting celebrities, going on a trip, receiving a gift, or the most-requested dream, a week at the Give Kids the World Village, which enables a child to visit all of the Disney-area theme parks. These special moments are all funded by friends and family of the organization, as well as, fundraising events held around the community. Over 80% of every dollar raised goes directly to granting children’s dreams and over 50% of all dream costs are covered by in-kind donations.

The Children’s Dream Fund and FLocal Magazine encourage you to join us at the most recent upcoming community event, Fishing For Dreams tournament (formerly the PAIA Fun Family Fishing Tournament.) Join local Florida anglers, along with friends and family of The Children’s Dream Fund as we come together for a day in the sun, all while making dreams come true!

How to sponsor a dream: Our Share the Dream Program enables an individual, business, civic club or family to sponsor the dream of a child. A person or business wishing to participate in the Share the Dream program can select a child and dream whose cost equals the amount of money they wish to donate. Photographs of dream children may be available to help promote your fundraising efforts. Upon completion of the dream, the sponsors receive recognition through receipt of a plaque with a photo of the child and mention in the Children’s Dream Fund newsletter.
