#FLocalLocalWeddings: Jaimie and Patrick

Tell us about your dress!

My dress was the Blush by Hayley Paige Holland Gown. It has a halter top with a lower back, a full tulle skirt, and a rhinestone belt and necktie.  It was not a style I would normally choose, but I fell in love with it when trying it on.  It was so comfortable and I never wanted to take it off.  I planned to change into a shorter dress for our beach bonfire after-party, but the thought of having to take the dress off made me too sad – so I didn’t change and I don’t regret it!

Aside from the dress, what was the one thing you splurged on?

The band! My mom had heard The Hit Factory online and she fell in love.  At that point it didn’t matter what the price was – she was in.  It was definitely a great splurge – they were amazing and so much fun.

What went into choosing your color scheme?

Our colors were gold, rose gold, blush, and ivory. We knew right away that we wanted one of our colors to be gold, because that is one of Mizzou’s (The University of Missouri, where we met) colors.  We played up the theme “From Mizzou to I do” on a few different items – like our save-the-dates and coasters.  I love pink and mixed metallic colors, so we also did blush and rose gold.  Then we chose ivory to keep things light, which felt right for the beach.

What was your favorite part of the planning?

The end! There is nothing like seeing two years of hard work come together!  I had a lot of fun picking out the linens and designing the way I wanted the room to look, it was amazing seeing something I’d been picturing in my head for so long actually come together in real life!

Do you have a most memorable moment from your wedding day?

My father-daughter dance was really memorable for me. My dad and I went to Daddy Daughter Date Night at the Largo Rec from the time I was five years old, all the way up until my freshman year of college.  I wanted to surprise him with something fun, so I had the band play our chosen song – My Girl by The Temptations – and then halfway through they switched to Last Dance by Donna Summer, a song we loved dancing to at Daddy Daughter Date Night every year.  It was so great to see his face when he realized what they were playing, and we had so much fun dancing!
