Summer Is Here

The ending of spring and start of summer marks an exciting time in Florida.  It is the beginning of summer vacation season, and slowly melts into the start of June… which is the month of brides.

Half of this issue is dedicated to the people, venues, businesses and couples that make having a wedding in Tampa Bay special, especially Phil Alessi.  We were honored to sit down with Alessi’s Bakeries to pay tribute to the man responsible for growing one of the most beloved bakeries in Tampa Bay.  Mr. Alessi brought dream cakes to life for couples over the years, and it is with great pride that his family and staff continue this tradition.

In this issue we also met up with Heather Worobec of Presents of Mine.  Located in the heart of downtown Duendin, Heather specializes in many things wedding-related, and can personalize gifts for anyone, and for any occasion.

If you are looking for the perfect ring, check out the amazing diamond engagement rings at locally-owned Arnold Jewelers.  They will give the you all the details on how to choose the perfect engagement ring!  Once you have the ring of her dreams, call up Lindsay Jimison, owner of Burlap to Lace.  She will plan the perfect engagement setting to (almost) guarantee she’ll say “YES!”  Lindsay reveals three local couples whose engagements she helped make happen!

The other half of this issue brings to life the excitement of traveling.  Travel always pairs well with weddings, as a big part of the wedding is the honeymoon!  Whether it’s around the State of Florida or across the pond, we have several #FLocalLocals that will be giving you the inside scoop on their experiences, so you can get to planning your next trip!  And to make sure you are dressed in your floral best, we met up with Sara Kat Ennis, owner of The Pink Palm in Tampa, a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store.  Sara Kat and her staff have everything you need to find that perfect dress to wear on your next trip, be it wedding or honeymoon.

As a special feature, Editor Ryan Rindone worked with Jarrett Bay Boatworks to reveal all the ins and outs of their craftsmanship. Their many brands create everything nautical, from custom sport fishing yachts to clothes and bars. The best part, our avid FLocal readers (aka, you!) will get an exclusive discount for July and August!  Also, an entire division dedicated to decor will be revealed in the next issue…..so stay salty.

Until next time #FLocals, stay kind, stay cool, and remember to wear sunscreen no matter where your travels take you.

Cheers,

Britt Blume
