What went into choosing a venue?
Our venue took us several months to choose. We visited venues all the way from St. Pete down to Key West. We were looking for that perfect atmosphere to make all our guests feel like they were on a tropical vacation and we found that at the Longboat Key Club.
Did you do any specific hair/skin/beauty tips leading up to your wedding day?
I did! My fabulous hairdresser Lon Madewell at Salon Siren put me on a plan six months before the wedding with regular split end bonding treatments and shine glazes in order to preserve the length while keeping my hair silky and healthy. As for my skin, I did a series of microdermabrasion treatments and facials at Fusion MedSpa. I wanted lighter, more natural makeup and having healthy, glowing skin made that much easier to attain.
What was your go-to workout in the months leading up to the big day?
I focused mainly on my diet; eating high quality foods that I knew would help support my skin health and keep a lean physique!
How did you choose your bridesmaid’s dress/style? What advice would you give to new brides?
Before I was even engaged I knew I wanted to let my girls pick their own dresses. I told them to keep it in the teal, mint, gold, and champagne family and they totally delivered. Everyone picked a dress that was in their budget and in which they felt comfortable. Looking back at the pictures, my girls all looked stunning and I’m so happy with my decision.
How did you choose your wedding entertainment?
The only detail that we decided on before our engagement was our music. A few weeks before we were engaged we went to Franklin Manor and decided that the band that was playing (Cliff Brown and the Brass Roots Band) would certainly play our wedding. They absolutely did not disappoint.
