Ducks Unlimited (DU) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of wetlands and other upland habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife. Founded in 1937 by Joseph Knapp, Duck Unlimited has gone on to conserve over 13 million acres of waterfowl habitat in North America. Since the beginning, DU has been responsible for restoring grasslands, replanting forests, restoring watersheds, educating landowners, and much more. Ducks Unlimited Florida is proud to have over 18,000 members and over 1,100 sponsors with 29,000+ total acres restored and conserved. Florida is home to several Chapters of Ducks Unlimited including the Bartow-Mulberry Chapter which was founded back in 1986 by Wogan Badcock III. This year, thanks to the Area Chairman, Shawn McDonough and his team of Committee Members & dedicated volunteers, the Bartow-Mulberry Chapter raised more donations at the annual dinner event than in any previous years! Due to decades of hard work, Ducks Unlimited is now the world’s largest and most effective private waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization. Their goal is to make wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow, and forever and we believe that is what makes them, the best of Tampa Bay!
